How We Use This Data

StockedCA aggregates and presents publicly available fish planting data to help anglers plan their fishing trips. We combine data from multiple CDFW sources to provide:

  • Real-time fish planting schedules
  • Interactive maps of fishing locations
  • Species-specific fishing guides
  • Historical stocking patterns

Data Updates

Our system automatically checks for new fish planting data from CDFW twice daily:

  • 2:00 AM PST — Catches overnight updates and prepares data for the morning
  • 2:00 PM PST — Captures updates made during business hours by CDFW staff

CDFW typically updates their planting schedules weekly, usually on Thursdays or Fridays, though updates may occur at any time based on changing conditions.

Data Accuracy

While we strive to keep our data current and accurate, fish planting schedules are subject to change due to weather, water conditions, and other factors. Always check with CDFW for the most current information and regulations before planning your fishing trip.
